Janison is an Australian-based software company that designs, develops and implements cloud-based learning and assessment systems for clients all over the world.  We are based on the mid-north coast of NSW, Australia with teams in Sydney, Gold Coast, Singapore, and NZ.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Release Engineer to join our team, based in Coffs Harbour.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide management and coordination of all technology-related software release activities for the Janison custom products in both BAU and project domains.
  • Lead the Software Release Management function in Janison by instituting and demonstrating industry best practices for release, configuration and implementation management, ensuring the integrity of releases and pre-release configuration items.
  • Provide integration and resolve conflicts during source code branch merging.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for software builds and releases.
  • Design and development of builds, scripts, installation procedures, and systems including source code control and issue tracking.
  • Works closely with a quality assurance team to ensure final version is up to organisational standards.
  • Automate repetitive tasks
  • Create deployment plans for production releases
  • Collaborate with QAs, Product Owners and Project Teams
  • Resolve issues identified by product owners in production and testing environments
  • Maintain source control branches and perform integrations with merge conflicts.
  • Identify tools and processes to improve the reliability, stability and efficiency of product releases
  • Design overall cloud tools architecture, standards and integration;  understand vendor road map and industry trends, evaluate tools releases, upgrades, fixes and patches

Technical experience:

  • Experience with TeamCity, Octopus Deploy or other CI/CD tools is required

Knowledge of some of the following is a must:

  • TFS
  • C#, .NET
  • Microsoft Azure
  • MVC
  • SQL Server
  • JavaScript, AngulasJS, HTML, CSS

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, an ability to work independently to solve complex engineering problems, and make independent decisions within established guidelines.
