About the role

To support and drive our growth, we are looking for Business Development professionals; based in either Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting directly to the Head of Learning, the Business Development Managers (BDM) will be responsible for building new revenue and generating relationships with target clients in key industry sectors.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Independently identify, qualify and close new opportunities.
  • Responded to RFPs.
  • Built/maintained strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Lead meetings and presentations with key decision-making personnel.
  • Work with strategic and regional partners to establish mutual business relationships.
  • Work within established guidelines to ensure that profit objectives are met.
  • Lead final contract negotiations with the customer.
  • Prepare regular and accurate forecasts of sales opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and industry knowledge to customers/prospects, and maintained an appropriate corporate presence in industry-related public conferences and tradeshows.

Skills & Experience

  • Have worked in a leading e-learning/talent vendor either at a content editor, an LMS or Talent software vendor or in e-learning services, operating for large accounts
  • Have extensive experience in the e-learning and/or HR industry with an existing portfolio of clients
  • 5 + years sales experience in either the HR training and consulting arena, business consulting or enterprise solution sales.
  • Demonstrate a broad, general knowledge of human resources principles, people development, training and software sector, ideally with an understanding of learning technologies and associated support systems and how these solutions can benefit client business performance.
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the current business challenges companies face within the target segments.
  • Mature, professional attitude with business acumen and commercial awareness.
