The role

Janison is seeking Exam Invigilators/Supervisors for the computer-based Selective High School (SHS) and Opportunity Class (OC) Tests in May 2025 across NSW. 

Availability Options: 

  1. Option 1: Friday, 2 May & Saturday, 3 May 2025 (Main test days) and Monday, 19 May 2025 (Make-up test – Contingency). 
  1. Option 2: Friday, 2 May & Sunday, 4 May 2025 (Main test days) and Monday, 19 May 2025 (Make-up test – Contingency). 
  1. Option 3: All four days: Friday to Sunday, 2 May to 4 May 2025 (Main test days) and Monday, 19 May 2025 (Make-up test – Contingency).

We seek reliable, enthusiastic candidates with strong communication, digital skills, and adaptability. A valid PAID Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required. Experience as an Invigilator is not necessary; a passion for education and strong IT skills are encouraged.  

In this casual role, you will work alongside other professional Invigilators to foster a positive testing environment for young students, supporting test delivery, and maintaining the integrity of the testing process. 

The Role Responsibilities 

In this position, you will be expected to: 

  • Complete Training: Participate in Janison’s comprehensive training program. t This training will help you understand procedures and confidently fulfill your role as an Invigilator. 
  • Oversee Digital Exam Resources: Ensure that each student accesses the test platform. Verify logins, confirm system readiness, and ensure that all necessary resources are available. Monitor students during the tests, address technical issues and other concerns, and document/report any incidents. 
  • Admin Tasks and Procedures: Handle pre-test setup and system checks, maintain test integrity, report incidents, and manage post-test procedures.  
  • Supervise Children: Provide active and continuous supervision for children aged 9 to 12 throughout the testing event. Ensure a positive, focused, and organised environment. Be available to clarify instructions and adhere to Health and Safety protocols. 

Who should apply? 

To be considered for this position, you must: 

  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check suitable for paid employment (Strict Requirement) or be willing to apply for one promptly, with a commitment to sharing details upon receipt. 
  • Have legal working rights in Australia. 
  • Be 18 years of age or older. 
  • Reside in NSW. 
  • Have no affiliation with tutoring or coaching schools/colleges. 

Ideal Candidate Attributes 

Experience: Prior experience in invigilating or supervising computer-based testing is highly desirable. 

Essential Qualities: We are looking for individuals who are punctual, reliable, and professional, with a positive attitude and an approachable demeanor. Strong digital literacy is essential.
