Janison has been named the state winner of the Public Sector & Government category at the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAwards, for its work with the British Council in delivering the Council’s English language proficiency test, Aptis.
Janison’s Replay solution won at the state level of the technology awards, which commend Australian innovation across a range of sectors.
Janison Replay has enabled the British Council to successfully deliver its Aptis examinations in more than 80 countries around the world, including to remote regions and developing countries with unstable internet connectivity and access to technology. Janison is a previous winner at the iAwards, at both state and national level.
Speaking after the team received the award at the Four Seasons hotel in Sydney on 7 June, Janison founder Wayne Houlden said: “We innovate and build continually in our organisation. What’s gratifying is that again we’re being recognised as innovators and the investment we make in building new products.
“Innovation is at the core of what we do at Janison and we’re constantly looking for ways in which we can continue to improve our products and create new products. Janison Replay is a great example of that culture that exists inside Janison.
“The new technology upon which we built Janison Replay had never been used before and it really solves a substantial problem that’s existed for many years in delivering examinations around the world.”
Australian Information Industry Association CEO Rob Fitzpatrick said: “Each year the awards shine a light on the exceptional achievements of those at the forefront of Australian innovation, and the projects shaping our modern economy.
“We’re proud to provide recognition and encouragement to people prepared to bring an idea to life, enabled by technology. Whether they’re in start-ups, the public sector, community services, academia, or private enterprise, small and large, the work of the finalists is an inspiration to us all.”
